Frequently Asked Questions
What is coaching?
The International Coaching Federation defines coaching as "a partnership with someone in a thought provoking creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential."
In other words, a collaboration between the Coach, who facilitates, and the Client who explores their mind in a way that generates valuable shifts in awareness and create substantial results both internally and externally.
Why should I consider coaching?
Ask yourself what you want to accomplish with a coach. Do you need a sounding board, a space where you're free to explore your thoughts, beliefs and emotions? Would having an objective, supportive ally help you achieve your goal? Are you open to considering new perspectives? Are you ready and willing to invest the time and energy necessary to make desired changes for yourself? If the answer to these questions is yes – let’s talk.
How long does it take?
The length of a coaching partnership depends mainly on your needs and preferences, as well as your personal goals and work style. In my practice I recommend a minimum of three months of focused, one-on-one coaching. Oftentimes, the clients I work with reach their intended results within that time and choose to continue coaching month-to-month to reach additional goals.
How does coaching compare to consulting, mentoring and therapy?
Mentoring and Consulting both involve advising while coaching does not. Coaching takes the perspective that you are the expert of your own life and invites you to draw your own conclusions and shape your own path.
Therapy is largely focused on your past while coaching focuses on who you are today and where you're heading. I've done both therapy and coaching and in my own experience, therapy was focused on healing past wounds to help me become whole again. Coaching was focused on who I was then, as a whole, and looking ahead.
How do I know you're the right coach for me?
How do I know you are the right client for me?
The truth is, neither of us will know until we meet and get a sense for each other and we feel it.
A few questions to ask yourself to ensure a good fit with your coach:
-
What experience do I want to have on this transformative journey?
-
What do I want to feel during my sessions?
-
Is my coach's energy aligned with mine?
I can tell you that I thrive to provide my clients with a safe and caring space where they can be themselves without judgement. I value being present and living a joyful life.

What certification do you have?
I am a Certified Life Coach and a Master Certified Professional Coach through Certified Life Coach Institute, a program accredited by the International Coaching Federation.
I also have a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management.
Beyond my diploma and certifications, I have been coaching and consulting in my corporate job for nearly 2 decades, thanks to innate gifts of extraordinary listening, empathy, big picture vision, and a keen intuition and memory for detail. I create a safe space for my clients to show up as they are and do the work and, as an added bonus: I have a decent sense of humor and love to laugh!
A lot of coaches offer free Discovery sessions. Why do you charge for yours?
There are 2 main reasons to this.
First, it's for me -- I want to ensure my time is utilized by those who are seriously considering hiring someone to help them on their transformative journey.
Second, it's for you -- by compensating my time, it gives you permission to make this time about you. You will show up as your more authentic self without worrying about wasting my time. This is important to me as it will help create the safe space I promise you, to explore who you are, where you're at today and what your aspirations are and the challenges that are preventing you from reaching your goal.
Regardless of whether you decide to hire me, the Discovery session will provide you with some valuable clarity.
Can coaching be done virtually?
Yes. At the moment all my coaching is done online through Zoom.
Are coaching sessions confidential?
Absolutely! All coaching sessions are strictly confidential with the exception of reasonable fear of harm to oneself or others.
